Harvest time – Ethiopia

Back to Ethiopia, after a great but hard journey in the Danakil, it’s time to take the road again through the “Historic route of the North“.

After the Afar region, we are here in the highlands to over 2000 m in the Tigray region, one of 9 regions of Ethiopia. The last major famine in the country (1984 – 1985) that killed 1 million people, has prevailed particularly in this region and in the south.

It’s harvest time… Here’s a scene of threshing (separating the wheat) with zebus.
