The Great South Wall, at the Port of Dublin, extends from Ringsend nearly four miles out into Dublin Bay. It was the world’s longest sea-wall at the time of its building, remaining one of the longest in Europe. At the seaward end of the wall stands the red-painted Poolbeg Lighthouse.

The Spire of Dublin, officially titled the Monument of Light is a large, stainless steel, pin-like monument 121.2 metres (398 ft) in height. The spire is an elongated cone of diameter 3 m (9.8 ft) at the base, narrowing to 15 cm (5.9 in) at the top.

Kilmainham Gaol is a former prison which is now a museum. Kilmainham Gaol played an important part in Irish history, as many leaders of Irish rebellions were imprisoned and some executed in the prison by the British.
