Destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, the city of Noto was entirely rebuilt in baroque style. In 2002 Noto were declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its architectural unity.
Here is the San Nicolò cathedral, restored and reopened in 2007 after the collapse of its dome.

Stromboli has been erupting continuously since at least 2500 years. They occur generaly several times each hour. For example, these two explosions took place at 7:12 P.M. and 7:56 P.M.
Eruptions from the summit craters typically result in a few second-lasting mild energetic bursts emitting ash, incandescent lava fragments and lithic blocks up to a few hundred metres in height.

We are here close to the summit of Stromboli at an altitude of about 850 m. The landscape becomes lunar and the smoking craters are clearly visible.

The Sciara del Fuoco is a section of the volcano where empties the eruptions of Stromboli. This volcano is erupting almost continuously since at least 2500 years. The activity is manifested with explosions several times per hour.
I’m here at 400 meters above the sea, it’s unfortunately not possible to go higher without a guide on pain of heavy fine. The summit is 924 m high and the three active craters are located approximately at 750 meters.

We left Vulcano for Stromboli, another active volcano in the Aeolian Islands. This island has beautiful black beaches.
